Protek Wood Preserver ++ is a water-based ready-to-use preservative. It contains active ingredients effective against moulds, wood destroying and wood discolouring fungi as well as against wood boring insects. It penetrates wood easily and thereby gets deep into inner layers. It is moisture regulating and provides an adhesive surface for subsequent treatment with finishing paints or stains (top coat). It has low VOCs and after drying is odourless.

Protek Stain Blocking Primer can be applied by spray, brush or roller. Allow each coat to dry before applying the next, this should take 1 hour. We recommend 2 coats especially if a white or off-white topcoat is being applied. If applying to bare untreated timber we recommend first applying a water-based wood preserver before the primer. This primer will stop the tannin bleed from the knots in the wood but it will not stop the resin coming through. If the timber is resinous a knotting agent should still be applied to the knots.
