As both whitewood and redwood are pine timber products, they can both be stained and finished. Whitewood is great for painting and redwood is perfect for oiling. Make sure you clean your wood thoroughly before finishing and add a final seal for protection.
The nature of tongue and groove flooring allows for it to be its own fastening, but sometimes additional securing may be required. Generally, nails or staples will be used to reinforce and adhesive when securing directly to concrete.
